La Guerra de las Galaxias. Episodio IV: Una nueva esperanza (George Lucas, 1977, EE.UU.)

La princesa Leia, líder del movimiento rebelde que desea reinstaurar la República en la galaxia en los tiempos ominosos del Imperio, es capturada por las Fuerzas Imperiales, capitaneadas por el implacable Darth Vader, el sirviente más fiel del Emperador. El intrépido y joven Luke Skywalker, ayudado por Han Solo, capitán de la nave espacial "El Halcón Milenario", y los androides, R2D2 y C3PO, serán los encargados de luchar contra el enemigo y e intentar rescatar a la princesa para volver a instaurar la justicia en el seno de la galaxia.

John Williams, compositor estadounidense de música de cine. Ha sido nominado 47 veces a los premios Óscar y galardonado en 5 ocasiones:  “El violinista en el tejado” (1971, música adaptada), “Tiburón” (1975), “La Guerra de las Galaxias” (1977), E.T. El extraterrestre (1982) y “La lista de Schindler” (1993).

John Barry, (1933 – 2011) compositor británico de música de cine. Obtuvo 7 nominaciones a los Oscar de los cuales ganó 5 y 10 nominaciones a los Globo de Oro ganando uno de ellos.
La banda sonora de Memórias de África ganó el Oscar y el Globo de Oro a la mejor banda sonora.

We Belong Together obtuvo el Oscar a la mejor canción en la edición 2011.

Barry Lyndon (Stanley Kubrick, 1975, Reino Unido)
Drama de época, siglo XVIII.
El joven Redmond Barry se enamora de su prima a la que pretende también el Capitán John Quin. Ambos se enfrentan en duelo resultando vencedor Redmond, quien se va a Dublín. Se alista en el ejército inglés y posteriormente intenta desertar, pero es capturado por un oficial prusiano quien le ofrece unirse a sus tropas.
Ganadora de 7 Oscars en 1975: Mejor director, mejor película, mejor banda sonora adaptada, fotografía, dirección artística, guión adaptado y diseño de vestuario.

La banda sonora corre a cargo de Leonard Rosenman, compositor estadounidense de numerosas bandas sonoras, quien en esta ocasión adapta diferentes piezas clásicas para la película.
Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759) fue un compositor alemán, nacionalizado inglés, considerado una de las cumbres del Barroco y uno de los más influyentes compositores de música occidental y universal.
